A colonoscopy is a visual examination of the colon. Your Bux-Mont physician will use an endoscope, which is a flexible, fiber-optic video device. Colonoscopies generally last about 30 minutes. You will be sedated to prevent pain and discomfort.

Your appointment will last for two to three hours, but the actual test will only last about 30 minutes.
