Pre-Procedure Instruction:
It is very important to follow all preparation instructions so that the doctor can have a clear view of the colon. If there is anything abnormal (i.e. a polyp), it may be removed during the procedure. Because of this you must STOP ALL non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Naprosyn, etc.) 7 days prior to procedure, unless otherwise directed by your physician. IF YOU TAKE COUMADIN, PLAVIX, ASPIRIN or other “blood thinning” agents, you should already have special instructions from your doctor, if you did not receive these instructions please notify nursing at 215-257-3011.
7 Days Before Your Procedure
For 7 day prior to your procedure, stop taking any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Naprosyn, etc.
The Day Before Your Procedure
Do NOT eat any solid foods.
For 3 hours before your procedure do not chew gum, suck on hard candy, or smoke.
Do NOT drink any milk, milk products, liquids with red or purple dye, or anything that is not a clear liquid.
Drink plenty of clear liquid.
These include: Clear chicken, turkey, beef or vegetable broth or bouillon, black coffee, tea, clear hard candy, Jell-O, apple juice, water, Crystal Light, Gatorade, soda, Italian water ice, Popsicles or white grape juice.
Continue taking heart, blood pressure, or seizure medication, or medication for acid in your stomach until 3 hours before your procedure.
Step 1 - Day Before Your Procedure
June, 11th at 12:00pm
In the morning prepare your Movi Prep solution. Empty 1 pouch A and 1 pouch B into the disposable container. Add lukewarm water to the top line of the container. Mix to dissolve; refrigerate.
Step 2 - Afternoon Before Your Procedure
June, 11th at 4:00pm
Begin your prep at 4:00 pm; The Movi Prep container is divided by four marks. Every 15 minutes drink the solution down to the next mark (approximately 8 ounces).
Once Movi Prep container completed, drink 16 ounces of a clear liquid of your choice.
Prepare the second container of Movi Prep (see Step 1) and refrigerate.
Step 3 - Evening Before Your Procedure
June, 11th at 9:00pm
Begin your prep at 9:00 pm; The Movie Prep container is divided by four marks. Every 15 minutes drink the solution down to the next mark (approximately 8 ounces).
Once Movi Prep container completed, drink 16 ounces of a clear liquid of your choice.
